Bastille day and national nude day

We are approaching Bastille day and national nude day, which are both July 14th.

Bastille day means that here or there there may be some celebration of French culture, often on the weekend before or after.

On days of French culture, people should visit and make the acquaintance of some French persons and practice fairing la bise.  La bise is the kiss of greeting in France.  You kiss the air by the cheek of the other person . . . You usually kiss 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 times, depending on the region of France where you are!

The joke in France about bising is “Chez nous, c’est quatre,” and “chez nous, c’est huit.”

“Where I am from, we kiss 4 times . . .”  “Where I am from, we kiss 8!”

In previous years, the bastille day had a french fest at the Seattle center near bastille day, but I see that in 2015, the french fest was in March!  I missed it!

I am not sure how and why there came to be a national nude day!
