Friday, October 6, 2017, Mercer Island homecoming parade

I watched some of the Mercer Island homecoming parade.  It turns out that part way through, there was a man who tried to interfere with my taking photos and then he escalated his confrontation and his behavior against me by hitting my hand twice , just after I turned the camera to also take his photo.  I assume he was attempting to knock the camera out of my hands or deflect the view of the camera away from him.

He did not like the idea of being photographed, apparently!  He did manage to help me miss at least one interesting photo and I feel bad about that!

Just after he did so, I saw and called over to us MIPD support officer Anna and asked that she take my complaint for a charge of assault against the man, but she delayed any action.  I said that the man had hit me twice and I said this to Anna, and the man denied it.  I do not know if the man just lies easily, or, if he felt to slapping or hitting my hand was not of the same category as hitting me, per se.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that since I desired to make a complaint of assault against the man, that Anna or another officer should have taken the complaint at the earliest possible reasonable time.

It is somewhat possible that the man is an employee of the school district in some way, given that he seemed to be associated with about 6 kids of school age.

After the confrontation with the man was over, one of the boys then said hi and took my photo by surprise, but that is ok .  . . though if I were to have photos taken, I would dress up in a bow tie or other interesting items.

Perhaps I will wear a bow tie for some of my other visits to some events such as these parades.

So, wow, there I was walking out in public without weapons and I get slapped on the hand, twice .  . .  Presumably Anna is happier that way with me without weapons but we do not know.

I don’t know a lot of how God views things, but I think there are some things that God supports such as religious liberty and the American system and I think God liked certain court decisions.  In the case of photos of the young ladies at some parades or the fair, does God have a position?  I would guess that God supports freedom, but I don’t know.

However, for a guy who is attempting to interfere with my taking some photos, is he “fighting” on the wrong side, and therefore, doomed to fail?  I don’t know!

A short time after the shooting death of Charleena Lyles in Seattle, I was walking at the Greenwood car show and browsing.  I was wearing a short folding knife on a lanyard on neck and so my knife-wearing was a form of open carry.

At one point there was a SPD officer who was doing some show of some vehicle, as part of the car show, that people could get into and I wandered over and chatted with him about the death of Charleena Lyles.  I think he looked at the knife on the lanyard 4 or 5 times!  He looked at it several times and I wondered later if I should have taken it off while talking to him so that he was not uncomfortable!  Of course, we were at the moment discussing a shooting death of a woman who had threatened two police officers with a knife and there are random evil-doers who have random evil intentions to police for being police.

I assume though, that for a guy who is slapping my hand while I have my camera at him, that drawing pepper spray is part of a reasonable response.

In any case, here are the photos of the event!

      Thanks for visiting the site!

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.[h] Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it[i] to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let me break it down for you. It is not okay (in a socially acceptable way – from a normal human perspective – leave legality out of it) for you to post pictures of children and teens, who are doing what teens innocently do, on your website alongside pictures of fully nude women, sometimes engaged in sexual acts with each other. THE CHILDREN OF OUR COMMUNITY DO NOT BELONG ON YOUR WEBSITE, in ANY context, in ANY form, ever. You are in the wrong in a moral sense. Legality and morality are two different things. If you don’t understand this, you should try. You are obsessed with legality and what you can get away with. Just stop. For your own good and everyone else’s. Please, try to act from a place of morality rather than legality. The content of your website is NOT COMPATIBLE with pictures of children that you post from parades, etc. On your website you have pictures of fully nude women, lesbian sexual acts, images of S&M, posts reflecting your obsession with your own nudity and thinking people enjoy seeing your nudity in public (which they don’t, take it elsewhere), and more disturbingly, your frequent discussion of RAPE and sexual assault. That makes you look like a sick weirdo, truth be told. And NO PARENT will be okay with their child’s picture next to that smut. If you don’t understand that, you should get professional psychological help. I feel sad for whatever happened to you, or whatever processes occur in your brain, to think it’s okay to do these things, but its not.

You quoted a few bible verses above and I would ask you, respectfully, to live by them: “16 Live in harmony with one another” You are not doing this right now. Not one single person on Mercer Island has appreciated or been happy about your posts, your taking pictures of our children, your walking around in white tights with your junk visible. We are not in harmony. If you can’t be in harmony here, please try somewhere else. “17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.” I could not agree more. I wish you no evil, although some might because they react on fear. I wish you no evil but I think what is “honorable” is for you to stop upsetting people by taking pictures of their kids and flaunting your private parts. We don’t want to see it. Please stop, that is the honorable thing to do. And “18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.” Can you do that? Can you live peaceably with the Mercer Island community? Or do you struggle with some affliction that makes you unable to do so? If so, I pray that you be released from this affliction. And if you cannot be freed from this affliction, may you be removed from society before you become a threat to anyone’s safety or well-being. And finally, you state “19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it[i] to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Indeed. And may God help you if I ever find a picture of any of my children on your website, because the vengeance will not be pretty.

      Thanks for the feedbank!

It seems to me that you raise two or three different questions. One is whether or not there should be included on the website photos of persons on Mercer Island, given the presence of other alleged content, which is, if I recall correctly, either rare or nearly nonexistent. To the degree that such content is present, it is presented, if I recall correctly, in a journalistic, educational or artistic way.

One question is the speculation you seem to express about what happened to me or my lack of understanding.

The last question is what is an appropriate response on your part, if and when there were a photo of a person related to you.

The 3rd question is far easier, I think . . . at from my limited point of view.

Private vengeance is unlikely to be productive and likely to be counterproductive, it seems to me. If you believe it is an appropriate response in your case, is it because you believe that this case is an exception to general principles, or that, because you might be so upset that you would act without regard to how productive your private vengeance would be?

As for there being photos of Mercer Island persons on the same site as other content which you regard as objectionable, I will ponder that and perhaps inform you in time to come. However, it should be noted that whatever is the presence of some objectionable content, from your point of view, that there is substantial socially helpful and in fact necessary topics of discussion, together with excellent proposed solutions. Among these topics of discussion are: 1) whether or not persons taking Valium should possess firearms, given the common psychiatric side-effects of Valium; 2) whether or not girls of middle or high school age should be given training in resisting rape attempts, and boys given similar instruction in resisting bullying; 3) whether or not the kids should be given instruction to not pick up guns found at home and educated in the dangers of guns being loaded without our realizing it or their realizing it; 4) whether or not the Seattle anti-knife carry law is good or bad; whether or not the anti-switchblade law is good or bad; 5) how and why it is that 4 in 5 of a recent simple survey of several MI kids could not explain what is Run Hide Fight and had no recollection of having had such training; 5) movie reviews including the socially meaningful and significant Twin River review; 6) discussion of the Charleena Lyles shooting.

Also, your bringing up the discussion of rape as found on my blog suggests that you have not been reading it much or are reading it very carelessly or are wilfully distorted what I write. It undermines your credibility. I have several discussions of persons who stopped a rape attack and how and I have prayer requests for victims of persons of various kinds of attacks and assault. If I recall correctly I discuss the academic evidence in favor of EAAA training, a 12 hour training course for women of college age proven to reduce subsequent rape rates and attempted rape rates and I contrast the easy knowledge gained by a simple web search of finding the academic evidence and other details of EAAA with the seeming willingness to do nothing and find out nothing in the way of preventing other rapes by the administration of Mountlake Terrace High school after one or several rapes took place on campus or among their students. The willingness of MTHS administration to advice but little in the way of helpful ideas is easily demonstrated by reading the MTHS newspaper in which the student journalists interviewed or quoted the principal and/or staff.

It is not my problem if you folks, meaning, the general public, install public school administrators such as the previous principal of MTHS who seems unwilling to consider some martial arts training for the girls, or perhaps even danger awareness training and then, as part of correcting the problem, I “discuss” rape. So how idiotic can you be to fail to distinguish between advocating, planning or relishing rape with discussing education and other programs that reduce and prevent it?
