Greetings Todd Caffey, counselour in school at some Tumwater high school . . .
So I write an essay on how your statistics are misleading, fabricated or false (or perhaps the result of changing “over the lifetime of” into “each year” without bothering to source your claims or read your sources) and I send it to you and to king5 and the other news organizations in the Seattle area and I post a longer version at greenlakewalking.net.
[My ongoing internet research indicates that there is an ACE or cdc study which says that 25% of females under the age of 18 experience sexual abuse, with such abuse defined as including consensual sexual experiences with adults or persons 5 years older than the girl.]
And king5 leaves up their original story, and komonews then puts up a new story on the Tumwater video, but at least they do not directly repeat the phony stuff, and instead has a brief excerpt from the video in which one of the students says that some various number of Tumwater senior girls will be sexually assaulted within some period of time!
Still, “You are more likely to be a victim of a vehicle crime than any other crime reported to the Seattle Police Department.”
Oh, well . . .
I guess I am not sure why the Seattle police are so unaware of the all the women being sexually assaulted in Seattle every year . . .
I guess it pays me to have a sense of humor about the fact-checking willingness of king5.com . . .
